This two-day non-certification course introduces participants to the principles of effective planning. The course presents the concepts of planning at each level, from strategic to tactical. Through this course, participants will discover the essential ingredients of effective planning and have an opportunity to practice and enhance their own planning skills.

Who Should Attend
 
Participants of this course would be those new to planning, forecasting or scheduling and would like to understand the theoretical aspects of these functions. The course will also be useful for those considering undertaking the APICS CPIM qualification.

-  Develop the basics of sales and operations planning

Master Scheduling
-  Identify the components necessary to develop a master schedule
-  Describe and develop the master schedule
-  Describe what is included in a master schedule by demand fulfilment approach
-  Develop the concept of available-to-promise
-  Identify the master scheduler's functions
-  Describe the cost of poor planning
-  Develop the MPS re-planning process/cycle
-  Define the MPS's role in reducing MRP system nervousness

Course Presenter:  Deborah Rose
Qualifications: A.D.App.Sci., Dip BOM, Dip CMI, Cert IV TAA, CPIM
 
Deborah Rose has nearly 30 years experience in Manufacturing & Distribution companies in roles such as planning, inventory management, purchasing, business analysis and project management. Since 2001 Deborah has concentrated on training, providing training and courseware writing services to a number of organisations.

Deborah has been involved with apics NSW since 1981 and was the first woman President of the Chapter. She teaches the APICS CPIM and apics Diploma of Purchasing programs as well as other traineeships such as Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Competitive Manufacturing.
